Frederick Edward Linck (Edward) passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019.
Edward was born on August 13, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA and has resided in Kemah, TX for the last thirty-three years. Edward received his degree in Civil Engineering from Villanova University and master’s degree in business from University of Houston. Edward had a successful career as president and CEO of multiple companies involved in engineering, design and construction related to power and process. He was a registered Professional Engineer and a member of multiple professional organizations including API, ACI, ASTM and ACS.
Edward was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in League City, TX where he was involved with ACTS, weekly bible study as well as restoring the Old St. Mary’s Church located on Main Street. Edward was one of the leaders who spearheaded the restoration of the “Old School House” located in Kemah, TX. Edward’s hobbies included sailing and wood working (and he was damn good at it too).
Edward was preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Madeline Linck, and by his brother Frank Linck.
Edward was most proud of his family, which includes his loving wife and best friend of 65+ years Berneice Casey Linck and brother Charles Linck; children Nancy Linck, Michael Linck, Paul & Luanne Linck, Joanne & Jimmy Woolsey, Patricia and Larry Nagaki, Thomas and Shawna Linck, Mark and Bella Linck and Stephen & Sharron Linck. He was grandfather to Christina, Margaret, Justin, Rebekah, Amanda, Andrea, Anna, Katie, Sara, Christopher, Sara, Madison, Cooper, Anthony, Jennie, Madeline, Laura, Claire, Benjamin, Meg, Connor, Caroline, and Samantha. Edward had eighteen great grandchildren.
Edward will be remembered for being an idea guy who provided a minimum ten solutions to any given problem with the possibility of one maybe two brilliant outcomes. Most of all Edward will be remembered as one of the “good guys” and will be sorely missed by all who have had the pleasure of meeting him.
The Family will receive friends on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 6:00PM with a Rosary at 7 o’clock at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main Street, League City, Texas 77573. A Mass will follow on Friday at 10:30am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1612 East Walker, League City, Texas 77573 with Father Howard Drabek officiating. Interment will be held at 2:30PM on Friday at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas. In lieu of flowers you may send memorials to St. Mary Catholic Church, C/O St Mary on Main Street, 1612 East Walker, League City, Texas 77573.
Ed was a cherished and well respected colleague on the Refractory Function Team at the Process Industry Practices (PIP) quarterly meetings. He was a wealth of knowledge and freely shared his field experience through “real life examples”.

I had the opportunity to work with Ed on the Process Industry Practices refractory team for several years. I always considered him one of the good guys. He had a polite, respectful way of presenting his ideas and potential solutions. I appreciated that greatly in a group that had many strong opinions and domineering personalities. He was a breath of fresh air in my opinion. Thank you for sharing Ed with us, as I always had great respect for his input.
He was a wonderful man, full of love and faith. I believe he is not gone; he is always present in our hearts and watching us from heaven.
He lived a good life, his life was full of examples and sweet memories.

I am truly sorry to hear of the loss of your father. Please accept our condolences and may our prayers help comfort you.
Ed had a great influence on my young life in Boy Scouts. He was one of the scoutmasters for my troup. The first memory that came to mind when I heard this news was catching my first redfish from the stern of is sailboat Vixen. He had taken a group of Boy Scouts out at Redfish Island for an overnight on the island. He was one of the smartest and kindest men I have ever know. Vaya con Dios Ed. May his soul rest in peace.
Ed was a well respected colleague on the Refractory Function Team at the Process Industry Practices (PIP) quarterly meetings. His wealth of knowledge through years of experience always gave the Team useful practical insight and a base upon which to build the Refractory Practices.

He will be remembered
I am so sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. I worked with him at Pyropower/Foster Wheeler and he was someone I really respected. Ed was genuinely a wonderful person and was someone who always thought of others before himself. Over the years I have thought of him often.
So sorry for your loss. He was such an interesting man only knowing him from Chris and Jennie’s wedding. I really enjoyed talking to him. Prayers for the family.
Ed started out as one of our clients in our construction business….later a great friendship developed and eventually with his wife Bernice and their children. Sometimes his children referred to me as their ninth child..because I was over at their house so much. He kept a chalkboard on the garage wall with an ongoing list of home improvement ideas and maintenance items to do. There were always fresh chocolate chip cookies in the refrigerator downstairs and water and Snapple to drink. Over the last 30 yrs. I’ve learned to respect him as a fair, kind, caring, compassionate, and generous man. He will be greatly missed! We love the Linck family and pray that God’s grace will cover you!!!

My association with Ed started a longtime ago when I first joined the industry as a new refractory engineer. He was my mentor, a colleague, real gentleman, always kind to me who helped me a lot in my professional development. He was always present in API, PIP, and other refractory meetings and contributed a lot in the development of standards and practices that we now have. Of these his contribution to PIP (Process Industry Practices) Refractory Team, from day one of its inception, almost 20 years now, will be really missed. To the Linck family, thank you very much for sharing Ed with us. My condolences and prayers are with you.

For the last fifteen or more years I worked closely with Ed on the development of Process Industry Practices (PIP) for the refractory industry. Ed brought knowledge, experience and creativity to the Team. His years of practicing the art of refractory design, installation and troubleshooting were invaluable to the development of practical, usable refractory Practices. Ed wrote several of the Practices, primarily those addressing firebrick, and contributed greatly to all of the others. Unlike the rest of us, he never missed a meeting, sometimes being one of only three or four participants. He willingly volunteered his time outside of the meetings to find information that we did not have.
It was very clear to us how much Ed’s family, church and community meant to him. He spoke lovingly of his wife, children and grandchildren and the family’s activities. We also learned of some of the ways he contributed to his community. He lived a good, honorable life and will be missed by all of us.
I got to know Ed when we were on the Kemah Historical Society. He had wonderful character and leadership. He always rose above the politics of a small town. And yes, he was one of the good guys. Rest In Peace now, your good work is done. Roselyn Pierce
Ed was a long-time refractory colleague and industry innovator. We experienced mutual refractory interests from Finland to Australia. Well done Ed.
