Patricia “Pat” Connolly Riggs died peacefully in Houston on August 27, 2019 at the age of 74.

Pat was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Frank Thomas and Elizabeth Zanone Connolly on December 16, 1944. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy and attended the University of Texas. Most of her career, Pat worked as a bookkeeper. Pat returned to academics later in life and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master in Public Policy and Administration at the University of St. Thomas. She taught at Houston Community College as she pursued a doctorate degree in political studies.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald Earl Riggs of Austin, Texas.

Pat is survived by her sons: Thomas Elliot Patterson, his wife Cindy Lynn Poteet, step-son Christopher Shook of Anchorage, Alaska, and David Edward Riggs. She is also survived by six brothers and sisters: Kathleen Flanagan, husband Thomas, of Havelock, North Carolina, Maureen Burg, husband Robert, of Hockley, Texas, Brian Thomas Connolly, wife Kathleen, of Daphne, Alabama, Elizabeth Muths, husband Dean, of Seabrook, Texas, Daniel Kevin Connolly, wife Rebecca Mott, of Ludington, Michigan, and Anne Connollyof Houston. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Pat will be interred with her late husband in Austin at a private family memorial service.
