Peggy Frankovich

Peggy Frankovich was born on October 5th 1937 in Galveston, Texas and passed away on July 29, 2019 at a local hospital. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In 1957, she married George James Frankovich Jr and raised three amazing children, Cindy, Patti, and Mike. She was a resident of Pasadena Texas for more than 30 years where she wrote a weekly column of senior citizen events in The Pasadena Citizen. In 2007 she moved to Friendswood Texas, where she enjoyed her favorite talent of being a fabric artist and seamstress. For the last 26 years, she met weekly with a small sewing group that included all her best friends, especially her “bestest” friend Laroyce Coy. The highlight of every year was attending and participating in the Houston Quilt Festival with her friends.

After George’s passing, Peggy enjoyed the constant companionship of her daughter Patti Nicholson who cared for her up until her death. She also dearly loved her precious dogs, Gidget and Coco. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Cecilia Reil, her loving husband of 52 years, George James Frankovich, Jr. and her great-grandchild Maximus Porterfield.  She is survived by her three children, daughter Cynthia Porterfield, daughter Patti Nicholson and son Michael Frankovich. As well as her grandchildren Justin Nicholson, Andrew Ryan Porterfield and wife Cassandra Porterfield, Katharine Mcinnis and husband Michael Mcinnis. Great-grandchildren Addison Vlach, Dallas Jordan, Bane Porterfield, Legend Porterfield, Kira Flores, James Flores, Jason Flores and Margot Mcinnis. She was also very grateful for the assistance of Donna Matterson in her last few years. A memorial service will be announced at a future date.

Peggy was the dearest friend. We will all miss her so. She put light into my life with her beautiful smile, her winning personality and her laughter. I think of things to tell her all the time but I will have to talk to her in Heaven. I know she is rejoicing with George, Teal and Thomas.

We had almost 30 wonderful years of friendship, fun and laughter.

All the family members are in my thoughts and prayers.

Peggy will surely be missed from our Friday sew days. It was a joy to know her and see her in all her fabulous outfits during quilt festival. I had her in my class not long ago and we really enjoyed each other. Rest in Paradise Peggy

  10. Peggy was my first cousin-her dad was my mom’s brother.
My family lived in the north and every summer we went to AL or TX for a couple weeks.
Peggy was a beautiful girl and gracious woman.
We didn’t keep in touch through the years but connected on Face Book in recent years.
    My sympathies to her family.
