  1. The world is a little bit darker without Fred’s smile in it. I will miss Fred; whenever we saw him, he was incredibly kind and welcoming. He had some good stories to share. One of the best photos ever of my son is while playing with Fred in Washington. I am grateful to him for the time he spent in the Navy, helping to keep our country free. I admire his persistence in keeping active and retaining his independence. I will miss him. I hope those close to him take comfort in fond memories amassed over the many years of his life.
