Freddie Anthony Sones was born on January 30, 1933, in Monroe, Louisiana, and left this life at 86 years of age on March 29, 2019. He was a resident of the Lone Star State for over 60 years, calling both Houston and Nacogdoches “home” during that time. Fred attended services at Life Church through his years in Houston and more recently at the United Pentecostal Church in Woden.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Sones, and his parents, Rev. E.E. and Ruby Sones.  He leaves behind his seven sons:Anthony Paul Sones, Michael Alan Sones and wife Terri, Mark Evon Sones, David Ray Sones and wife Kathy, Randall Thomas Sones and wife Margaret, Gary Dale Sones and wife June, and John Keith Sones.

He is survived by grandchildren Jennifer, Julie, Amber, Brandon, Aaron, Jacob, Jason, Jana, Amanda, Amy, Joy, Brian and Jill, as well as 26 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Crowder Funeral Home, with a service at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
