Bart Quigley
December 5th, 1963 – September 22nd, 2018
Bart was born to James (“Quig”) and Barbara (“Bobby”) Quigley as the 5th of their six children (Joan Newton, Peg Pulice, Kathleen Eiland, Patrick Quigley, and Danny Quigley). Bart moved from Houston to Galveston in 1979 and graduated from O’Connell High School in 1982, and took with him the lifelong friendships he forged there. Following high school, Bart moved to California and completed chiropractic college before moving back to Texas.
Bart married Kristi Lynn McDonald in 1992 and Kristi’s family quickly became his. Johnnie and Piffy gained a son, and Marla a brother. Kristi and Bart welcomed a daughter, Peyton, in 1996, and then a son, Mason, in 2000. Following the birth of their daughter, Bart became an operator at Union Carbide, and later Dow Chemical. His coworkers became a extended family and soon learned of the asset that had joined their ranks. His large family & countless friends can attest to the character of this man; he would give you the shirt off his back. Integrity, family, character are three values our Bart held in the highest esteem. Quick with a joke or a kind word, your misery never found company with Bart, for no frown could persist when he was near. This son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend will be sorely missed by those he leaves behind.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 28th at Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, TX from 10am-12pm, followed by a memorial service at 12pm. Reception to follow at the Texas City Policeman’s Hall.
Honorary pallbearers include: Danny Quigley, Bob Newton, Mark Pulice, Brandon Iles, Dustin Rios, Travis Jenkins, Matt Houghton, Adam Eiland, Bill Proctor, Ian Thomas, Johnny Smecca, Bubba Koehler, Ralph Colombo, Al Wilson, Robbie McGee, Darren Summers, Randy Johnston, Eric Reynolds, Sam Martin and Tom Estep.

Met this kind man many years ago when I had the privilege of teaching his beautiful daughter, Peyton. We have grow to love this family very much and you all are in our prayers. As your heart starts to heal Gary and I pray that God will bring the beautiful memories you shared as a family to your hearts and minds. We love you and you are forever in our prayers.
Kristi Diane and I are so sorry for you and your children’s loss. I have many fond memories of Bart. I lost touch as happens and for that I am truly sorry. Bart I always admired you as a friend but mainly for showing me how to be a a man in our younger days . You protected your friends and were always ready to help each one of us in our time of need. What I will always remember is your humor and big heart. I am a better person for you allowing me to be one of your friends. I will miss you but I will not forget you. Bart, I always admired you as a friend but more importantly what it meant to be a man. You always protected your friends and we’re always there for us in our time of need. What I remember most is your humor and the enormous heart that you had for everyone that you knew. I want to thank you for allowing me to be one of your friends. I will always remember you and may you rest peacefully my friend.
I would like to Express my sincere condolences to all the family during this most difficult time. I was Bart’s chief operator when he came to work for Union Carbide. I came to admire him for his work ethic to succeed. I considered him not as another employee but as a friend and part of our working family. I have since retired and moved to San Antonio and was very surprised and shocked to hear this very disturbing news. I am shocked and sadden to hear about the passing of Bart. I went to high school with Bart and I only have fond memories of him. He was funny and always had a quick quip or joke that he could deliver in a unique way that only Bart could deliver. He will be truly missed. I will keep Bart’s family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.

To my Dearest Quigley Family, some things I’d like to say…
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I’m writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there’s no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I’m out of sight.
Remember that I’m with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, “I welcome you.”
It’s good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they’ll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you’re part of my plan.
There’s so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.”
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day’s chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you….in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn’t understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o’er.
I’m closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I’d like it for you too…
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who’s in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night……”My day was not in vain.”
And now I am contented….that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you’re walking down the street, and you’ve got me on your mind;
I’m walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it’s time for you to go…. from that body to be free,
remember you’re not going…..you’re coming here to me.

I wanted to share my condolences with Bart’s family. I had the pleasure of knowing him when we worked together one summer at Jungle Surf while I was in nursing school. Bart was such a sweet boy- always smiling, and ready to have fun. He liked to joke, but it was never mean spirited-even as a teenager, he was kind. I’m truly sorry we lost touch.

My most sincere condolences to all of Bart’s family, especially the Quigley side I knew so well growing up together in Bermuda Beach. The friendship and memories made will never be forgotten. I am shocked and saddened to hear of Bart’s death. Be assured he will find peace in the arms of our Lord. I have known Bart for many years and he has always been one of the best people I have ever known. He is honest, kind, understanding and a good friend.

I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you. A scripture that has brought me comfort is Isa. 41:10. There God implores us to not be anxious because he is with us and lovingly assures us ” I will really hold on to you with my right hand.” May the God of all comfort be with you at this difficult time. ( 2 Cor. 1:3,4 )

My sincere condolences to BART’S family. Bart was a great guy, I thought he was very witty, very funny at times and had some great comments and was a good football player at OC. Sad to say I only saw Bart once after we graduated, truly a loss. May Bart rest in peace. Keeping the Quigley Family in my thoughts and prayers.

As a former co-worker of Bart’s, I’d like to send my condolences to the family and friends. Bart was my teacher at Union Carbide when I was transferred to his unit. He was a great teacher, excellent leader and great friend to me. He was always nominated to be the L.A.C.(Lunch Activity Coordinator) at work when we would have a turnaround. He had a great knack for setting us all up for something good for lunch on shift. He always lent an ear to listen if needed and advice to get you where you needed to be. And he would be the first one to respond if we needed help doing anything. He will be missed.
