Houston Michael York, 32, of San Marcos, TX passed sudenly on August 26, 2018 in San Marcos, TX.  Houston was born May 13, 1986 in Midland, TX.   Mr. York was currently attending Texas State University and worked at a place very dear to his heart,The Leaning Pear in Wimberly, TX. .  He was formerly of Friendswood, TX where he was raised and is a member of Mary Queen Catholic Church and attended the Clear Creek ISD and  graduated from Clear Brook High School Class of 2004.  Houston always enjoyed and seeked out learning new things. He had a passion for reading, writing, music, cooking, exploring, skateboarding and traveling to name a few. He was surrounded and inspired by many people in his life. He always said, “LIVE FAST, LOVE HARD, DIE YOUNG. MAKE MEMORIES. REGRET NOTHING.” Faron Young.

Mr. York is preceded in death by his father Buddy Ray York.

Houston is survived by his mother and step father Maria DeLourdes and Joel Whatley; step grandparents Jean and Eddie McCorkle and John and Gayle Whatley; sister Melissa Dawn-Marie York; step sister Shelly Smithson and husband Nicholas; step brother Jason Whatley and wife Karla; nieces and nephews Jayden Rae-Marie Williams, Jordyn Rae Williams, Locke Schoellkopf, Allie Johnson, Kensley Smithson, Aubrey Whatley, Madison Whatley and Kelly Ann Whatley. And his best friend and constant companion, his service dog Mara JadeTx. He is also survived by countless aunts, uncles and many cousins that loved him dearly.

There will be a visitation for family and friends 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday August 30, 2018 at Crowder Funeral Home 2422 E Broadway St. Pearland, TX 77581 with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.  There will be a mass 10:00 a.m. Friday August 31, 2018 at Mary Queen Catholic Church 606 Cedarwood Dr Friendswood, TX., following reception at Mary Queen Hall. Pallbearers will be: Eric Duran, Jason Paredes, Matt Harris, Paul Craig, Jason Whatley Matt Wollford.
