David Angel Ortiz
David Angel Ortiz, 21, of Pasadena, TX passed away July 22, 2018 in San Marcos, TX. David was born May 11, 1997 in Houston, TX. He was a lifelong resident of Pasadena as well as a class of 2015 graduate of Pasadena Memorial High School, where he played football. Mr. Ortiz was also a Junior at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX, where he was studying Exercise Sports Science. David was an avid sports fan and talented musician. David was a kind and considerate young man who always helped others without regard to his own needs.
David is survived by his parents, Miguel and Gina Ortiz; grandparents: Rob and Martha Blain and Olga Ortiz; brother, Anthony Ortiz; sister, Jessica Sanchez and her husband Leo; niece, Aalyiah Itzep; along with numerous other loving family members.
There will be a visitation on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel at Grace Church in Houston. Funeral service will be Saturday, August 4, 2018 beginning at 2 pm, also in the chapel at Grace Church in Houston, followed by burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Houston, TX.
Pallbearers will be: Anthony Ortiz, Keven Ortiz, Oscar Ortiz, Cesar Lopez, Carlos Ortiz, and Noah Blain.
Thinking of you all and hoping you can find some peace out of this tragedy. BK enjoyed living with David and we have enjoyed getting to know all of you. God Bleas you all.
I’m sorry that I won’t be able to attend the service for David, but know my prayers are with you Manuel, Gina and the rest of the Ortiz family. It was a great pleasure of mine and the rest of the team at Westover Baptist Church to be able to be of service to you and the other families that suffered this great loss. Our hearts are torn as we grieve David’s death. And also comforted knowing the hope of the resurrection. We cannot come for the visitation and service, but we are heart to heart with David’s family as they give thanks for his life!
It was an honor to get to know David on our trip to Scotland and England this summer. He was such a blessing to all of us who traveled with him. We all have a whole in our hearts.
I’m so deeply sorry for the loss of your loved one. My heart goes out to all of the family. I have always found comfort from the Bible’s words at Isaiah 46:10. There God implores us to not be anxious because he is with us and assures us “I will really hold on to you with my right hand.” May the God of all comfort be with you at this difficult time. (2 Cor. 1:3,4)
Thank you for sending the information on David’s service. So very sorry for your loss. We are privileged to have had the opportunity to meet and to get to know your fine family even in this tragedy. I will be unable to attend but please know you will all be in the thoughts and prayers of the Westover family during visitation and the memorial to-morrow.
