Addie Richmond
Addie Richmond, 79, of Friendswood passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 28, 2018. The loving mother, wife, sister and friend was born the third of seven children to Ida Donatto Founteno and Freddie Founteno on March 9, 1939 in Liberty County, TX. She grew up in San Antonio and graduated from St. Gerard’s Catholic High school in 1957.
Addie retired from Shell Oil in 1996 where she worked with the Provident Pension Funds. She brought joy to those she worked with and treasured the memories of those longtime co-workers. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of those around her. Her three successful children and four charming grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her extended family was spread far and wide. Addie took great pleasure in traveling to visit them and hosting them in her home for holidays. The more family she could host, the happier she was. In her retirement, her family was her hobby and she was passionate about caring for others. Whether she was spending time with her grandchildren after school or chatting with neighbors, you could always count on her for a listening ear and a ready laugh. Addie’s smile is so very memorable to all who knew her, and her vivacious spirit was infectious. To know her was to love her, and she will be deeply missed.
Addie is preceded in death by her parents, Ida and Freddie Founteno, her sister Inez Krcelic and brother-in-law Tony Krcelic, and infant brother Charles Founteno. She is survived by her husband of 41 years Eugene Richmond; children Roxanne Pruski of Aliso Viejo, CA, Renee Ricker of Friendswood, TX, and Jeff Pruski of Huntsville, TX; grandchildren, Lindsay Ricker, Lauren Ricker, Alexandra Pruski and Seth Pruski; and siblings Jo Condrill of San Antonio, TX, Bess Crouch and husband Cliff of Colorado Springs, CO, Fred Founteno of San Angelo, TX, and Gerianne Collins and husband John of Adkins, TX.
There will be a visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 01, 2018 at Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 E. Broadway St. Pearland, TX 77581 with a vigil and rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 02, 2018 at Mary Queen Catholic Church in Friendswood, TX. Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 02, 2018 at Garden Park Cemetery, 801 Teas Road Conroe, TX.
I will remember her at Mass in the morning. May God bless your family and give you peace of mind that Addie is in the presence of our Lord and Savior. May she rest in peace.
My deepest sympathy to the Richmond family. My heart goes out to you for your loss. When going through the loss of my father, a scripture that really brought me comfort is Isaiah 41:10. There God implores us to not be anxious because he is with us and assure us ” I will really hold on to you with my right hand.” May the God of all comfort be wth you at this difficult time. Roxanne and family, we’re asking God to fill you all with peace and comfort and encouragement- especially as you remember your Mom’s beautiful heart and love and laughter! I clearly remember these things about her, from 40 years ago when we were in high school – what a precious, lovely lady!
