Susan “Sunshine” Irene Adkins
Susan “Sunshine” Irene Adkins, 64, passed away June 30, 2018 in Pearland, TX with her family by her side. Susan was born August 28, 1953 in Miami Beach, FL and has been a resident of the Manvel – Pearland area for the past twelve years. Mrs. Adkins was a retired registered nurse in the Houston Medical Center and a member of the Old English Sheep Dog Rescue.
Mrs. Adkins is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mary Adkins.
Sunshine is survived by her life partner of 40 years Donna Ewing of Manvel, TX; three sisters Betty Bossarri and husband Tex, Barbara Harper and Janet McKenzie all of Florida; along with her loving and extended Ewing Family which she cherished dearly.
Visitation will be Thursday July 05, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home 851 F.M. 517 Dickinson, TX 77539. Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday July 05, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Ewing officiating. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. Pallbearers will be Mike Berry, Darrell Billiot, Chris Hood, Eric Schlumpf, David Holcomb and Michael O’Brien.
In leu of flowers memorial may be made to the Old English Sheep Dog Rescue of Texas 246 Herriott Lane Argyle, TX 76226.
Oh, we are so sad to hear of Sunshine’s passing. Our hearts are heavy with the sadness we feel over the loss of Sunshine, for the Adkins family and for her wonderful partner, Donna, whom we love dearly. We wish Donna and her family every possible bit of love and comfort in this difficult time, and we will continue to hold Sunshine near and dear in our hearts. Sending you love and hugs across the miles.
