Donald Trahan, Jr.
It is with great sorrow that the Trahan Family must announce the death of Donald Trahan, Jr. He passed peacefully and suddenly at home with his family on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
Don will be remembered for his sense of humor, his open and giving heart, his vast intelligence, and his terrible karaoke. He impacted the lives of so many while living a full and adventurous life. He lived like he meant it, and packed his life with travels and new experiences the likes of which most of us will never have the chance to experience.
A celebration of his life will be held for Don on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 7:00 pm at Crowder Funeral Home located at 851 Farm to Market 517 Rd W, in Dickinson, TX 77539. There will not be a viewing or funeral, at Don’s request.

I knew Donald from when I performed and hosted Kareoke. Like many of us, he felt free when he was singing. Now he is truly free. He was always a kind person to me and so many others, and he will be missed.
I’m miss him too
Sincere condolences go out to the family. Please find comfort and hope in the guarantee that soon death will be no more (Rev. 21: 3, 4) and the exciting promise that those we have lost will be reunited with us again (Acts 24:15 & Psalms 37:29).
Donald was a wonderful person. He was always so kind to me. I have good memories of him and will never forget his smile. My sincerest condolences go out to his family and loved ones. May God bless you all and cover you in this time. Heaven has gained another beautiful angel.
Wow, I was certainly shocked to learn of your passing. I only knew you about 6 weeks while working with you at Greater Harris 911. You quickly earned my respect as an extremely talented and brilliant IT Professional. It isn’t often you find an IT person who is brilliant “and” has a great personality. Your personality and energy were contagious! You are already missed.
One of my fondest memories of Donald was of when we first met. I decided to step out alone and made my way to Jr’s, where he of course was singing karaoke. He was singing a Spanish ballad, I instantly was drawn in. When he finished singing, I went up to him and introduced myself and asked him why that song choice. It was a Spanish ballad about heartaches. He smiled , his dimples were easily the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. That night, heartaches became our topic of the night. Our medicine and remedy was to laugh the whole night.
Thru the 6 years of our friendship, I got to know a generous and kind person. I can say that he was most happy when he sang, that was his limelight/ an outlet for him. The following values of Donald that resonated with me and the lessons that he thought me are; compassion, he taught me this thing called humanan condition, he would say “ chica, at the end of the day we still need to take care of one another “. He taught me friendship, gratitude and hope. My memory of Donald will always be held as a sweet Spanish ballad in my heart.
I am unable to attend because of poor health. My prayers of strength and comfort to Donald’s family and many, many friends. Always with a warm smile and concern for everyone’s well being. A photographer with an artists eye. I can’t tell you how much I will miss this young man. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers. My heart is broken. 🙏🏾🎶❤️
I met Donald in high school. We were pretty good friends but lost touch over the years. We reconnected several years ago and since then we laughed together, we danced together, we sang together. He shared some secrets with me and I shared mine with him. He was never too busy to lend an ear to a friend. He was such a kind and good-hearted person, and he always left an impact on everyone he met.
I miss you my friend.
My sincere condolences to the Trahan Family. It is a very sad news for all of us that had the chance to share moments with Donald. I can probably say Donald was the very first person I met in High School when I came to this country in the fall of ’96. I had very little English knowledge and he didn’t hesitate to reach out to me and help me in every way he could possibly found. I was very amazed as how well he spoke Spanish and how humble he was to keep learning from the Latin American Culture. We were always sharing moments in and out of school. Dancing Salsa was one of his passions and he got to assist in several of my classes back in the day. As the years went by and I had a family of my own, we lost touch, but reconnected through social media. He even called me to check how I was doing after I had my twins. Donald, will be greatly missed by all of us.
To the Trahan Family, let me say thank you, thank you so much for sharing a fantastic human being with the rest of us.

Rest In Peace and may your heart always carry that love, persistance, and humor only you would share with everyone that surrounded you. I send you an enormous hug from Colombia all the way to heaven. Rest in peace Donald. You left an enormous sadness among us. God bless your family and help them through this chapter of life.
I was so sad when I found out that Donald had passed. He was so kind and sweet and funny. I will alway treasure the time that I knew him. I worked with him for two years and we would often chat about his life. He was such a character and will be greatly missed!
