Jagdishchandra Manilal Acharya was born in Virpur, Gujarat, India on March 11, 1937 and passed away on Monday April 30^th 2018 at the age of 81.  He is survived by his wife Gunvanti Acharya, 2 daughters Shilpa and Hema and 2 sons Swetank and Kuntal.  He was a proud and devoted grand pa for six grandchildren ranging between 9 yrs- 21 yrs.

During his early days he worked as a Salesman selling various products.  He was a voracious reader, enjoyed listening to KL Saigal and Noorjahan.  He loved to sing Mohamad Rafi and Manna De songs as well as various bhajans and stutis.  He was a big fan of the Bollywood star Dillip Kumar and made sure he never missed his movies.  He spent much of his time reading Hindu texts and performing poojas for family and friends during his time in US.

 

He will be remembered by all for his simplicity, kindness, large heartedness and the immense support he provided to everyone around him.
