Lisa Richards
Lisa Richards née Knochel passed away unexpectedly in Clear Lake, Texas on April 14, 2018. Lisa was born to John “Jack” and Carol (Arcement) Knochel on November 29, 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland. Although born elsewhere, she always considered herself a southern girl, having spent most of her childhood in Texas. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1979. After earning her Associate’s Degree from San Jacinto College, Lisa went on to earn her Nursing Degree from UTMB Galveston. She specialized as a surgical nurse for over 35 years where her zeal for life and passion for serving others brightened the lives of those around her. Lisa had three children with Jon Richards, whom she loved more than anything. Lisa was a charismatic and loving individual who will be greatly missed. She is survived by her parents, Jack and Carol; sisters, Teri and Gina; brothers, Mark and Scott; her three children: Zachary Richards 26, Drew Richards 24, and Madison Richards 22; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
I’ve known Lisa and the Knochel’s since our NY days. We were amongst some of the NASA families that migrated to Texas together. Lisa and I became very close growing up through the years. My dad especially got a kick out of teasing Lisa, and Lisa got a kick out of my dad’s teasing. Lots of good times and laughs between our families, too! Oh the adventures and stories we’ve got together…many of which will remain in ‘the vault’ 😉 Lisa will be missed by so many but the memory of her will certainly be with us forever. We love you, Lisa…Save me a seat on the front row with you so we can giggle and laugh like we used to all the time ❤️
Love you, gf…Jan Mangieri (Janny Jan)
My heart is broken to hear this news. May you rest in peace my friend, gone too soon.
To the family of Lisa:
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this
very difficult time. Lisa and I graduated from
Clear Lake together. I want her children to know
that your mom loved you all so much. When we
got together over the years her joy, love and
respect for her children was evident in all that
she shared about you. She will be with you
always.
I’ve known Lisa most my life, though I hadn’t the opportunity to see her much, know she’s always been loved. Such a shock for her to slip away from us so quickly. Pray she’s at peace… love & miss her.
I’m so sorry to hear about her passing. My prayers to her entire family. I grew up just 3 houses down and have such great memories of all of us playing any hanging out at their house.
Our family is deeply saddened by Lisa’s sudden passing. Our hearts go out to her family.
Through our children, our lives were intertwined for many years and we have many fond memories of Lisa. Lisa was part of the fabric of the Clear Lake community and she will be missed, but not forgotten. She will be remembered with a smile on face and a twinkle in her eye.

My thoughts and prayers are with Lisa’s family. Heaven gained an angel for sure! Lisa always had a smile on her face, and never met a stranger. Many prayers🙏🏻

Always a beautiful lady in both body and spirit. Truly a zealous soul on all counts. God has an angel that has passion and will always call it like it is in truth and as matter of fact, but always with a loving heart. It was a pleasure to know her well and see her chase and conquer her dreams and passions. God bless you Lisa and looking to the day of reunion in God’s realm. Peace always, sister. Amen.
Sorry—I just heard. Lisa was always so energetic and a great baseball Mom and healer. I still remember (must have been 20 years ago at the McKernan’s house) her talking about the importance of the Eucharist and how much it meant to her to “receive the actual body of Christ”. Her faith was visible. Sorry for you loss.
I did not know Lisa passed away until I read something on Facebook. Our sons played sports together. I’ve been friends with the Knockels since we were in school: This breaks my heart! Does anyone know what happened?
