Vance “Jake” Murphy
Vance “Jake” Murphy, 54, resident of Dickinson, TX formerly of Santa Fe and Texas City, TX passed away March 15, 2018 in his home with his family by his side. Jake was born in Denver, Co on August 11, 1963. He was a graduate of Texas City High School. Jake was a chemical operator for 24 years at International Specialty Products now known as Ashland, he attended Calvary Baptist Church and helped with the set up for TCCA (Texas Club Calf Association) show at Galveston County Fair and Rodeo, Executive Board for G.C.F.R., past president of Galveston County Ranchers Association, and Instructor for Industrial Mutual Aide Systems. Jake was very involved with youth softball and anything his kids were affiliated with.
Jake is reunited with his beloved wife of 37 years, Sandra Murphy and is preceded in death by his father, Charles Murphy.
Jake is survived and will be missed by his daughter, Amber Kay Murphy; son, Jake Ryan Murphy; Mother Dorothy Murphy; sister, Laura Gardean, husband Russel. Nieces and nephews: Jay Flores, Lani Flores, Russell Gardin Jr. and Lisa Gardin; granddaughter, Evelyn Kay Irons.
The family will receive friends and family on March 23, 2018 from 5 to 6 p.m. with a service to begin 6 p.m. at Arcadia First Baptist Church. Arrangements under direction of Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland.

He was the best papa ever. I’m his granddaughter, daughter of amber Kay Murphy.
