Rowena Helen Pierce Humbird, 92, of Texas City, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018, in League City. Rowena was born March 1, 1925, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Roy and Ruth Kathren De Maranville.
Rowena was a resident of Texas City for over 62 years; she was a Secretary for 60 years at the Trinity Full Gospel Church, where she loved teaching her Sunday School Class. She enjoyed singing, gardening, canning, crocheting and she loved her cats; more than anything though she enjoyed reading and studying her Bible.
Rowena was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Humbird, daughter, Bonita Salter and brothers; Bud De Maranville and Ike De Maranville.
She is survived by; four sons: Scottie Pierce of Madagorda Peninsula, David Pierce and wife Kathy of San Leon, TX , Mark Pierce and wife Lawana of Bacliff, TX and Aaron Pierce and wife Kimberly of Seabrook, TX; seventeen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 12:00- 2:00pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, with the Funeral Service at 2:00pm with Pastor John Mincher officiating. Burial will be at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
