My son and Dolores have birthdays on the same day. When he turned 20, she turned 80. March the 9th that year was Ash Wed. Dolores shared that that was the first time ever that her birthday was on Ash Wed. So I joked with my son that he would need to live to be at least 100 before he would have the chance to experience this again. She wrote me a thank you note on Jan. 10th(just two days before her passing) which I received in the mail on Jan. 13th thanking me for some spiritual adoption prayer cards which she had asked for. She asked about my son and shared that she was adding him to her prayer list. My son is a novitiate(first year of seminary) in the Dominican order. When I received that card, I felt I had received such a gift- to know that this beautiful woman who is on her way to heaven was praying for my son! Though I did not know Dolores well, I know what a holy woman she is and I am have been so blessed by her acquaintance!
I have been praying for Bob and Dolores for many years. Dolores traveled in group to Medjugorie. After she came back, she gave a special presentation at our church and my husband, Juan, was touched so deeply that he decided to go on that trip. He always gave thanks to Dolores for having shared that religious information. May God and our blessed mother have her in their arms. She and Bob are truly great witnesses to our Faith. She and Bod always prayed for us also. May they rest in peace. May God bless all their family.
I met Delores at the Kroger when it was on Nasa Rd 1 She engaged conversation with me as I was deciding where to live Memorial or CLC she said a new Church
was being built (St Bernadette with Carmelite Priests which I LOVE) So my journey
began with Delores standing in a garage in Brookforest while Father Tasker said
Mass Her grace, friendly spirit convinced me to buy here So many sharing and conversation pursued over the years I will miss her gentle way twinkling eyes and
gentle hugs She will be in my heart always

The Hopple family would like to offer condolences to the Mack family in the loss of Dolores. We met her when we moved to Houston in 1999 and greatly admired her for her friendship and was impressed by her deep faith. Always a smile and a comforting word. Whenever we see the statue it would be a forever memory of a great lady.
