David M. Meek
David M. Meek, 88,formerly of Grove City, Ohio, died peacefully Monday afternoon (Jan.15,1918)at the Cottages of Clear Lake, a memory care facility, located in League City, Texas.
David was born in Belmont County to D. Mearl Meek, Sr., and Lulu Mae (Dixon) Meek. He was a 1947 graduate of Bellaire High School where he enjoyed playing on the football team all four years. He loved watching Big Walnut High School football. His three children are graduates of Big Walnut High School as well as two of his grandsons who played on the Big Walnut football team. He was an employee PPG in Delaware, Ohio and retired in 1994.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Virginia May Hinds whom he married on June 3, 1947, a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryle “Cherry” Brenner and Jerry Brenner of League City; Texas, two sons and a daughter-in-law, David L. Meek of Gahanna, Ohio, and Michael L. and Ruth Meek of Center Village, Ohio; four grandchildren, Pyper Brenner, J.T. Brenner, Brandon Meek, Seth Meek and his wife Shelby; five great-grandchildren, Dakota Brenner, Aysia Brenner, Elizabeth Brenner, Preston Brenner, and Conway Meek; one sister and brother-in-law, Elnor and Ed Silverman of Plano, Texas.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Friends may call there one hour before the funeral service.
