Calvin “Mike” Watson
Calvin “Mike” Watson, 71, passed away January 2, 2018 in Houston, TX. Mike was born April 24, 1946 in Houston, TX. He was a resident of Pearland, TX for over fifty years. Mike proudly served his country in the U.S. Airforce during Vietnam. He retired from Service Transport with over twenty years with the company and having a total of forty years in the long-distance trucking industry.
Mike lived a simple life but cared deeply for those in his inner circle. He had a thorough knowledge and love for American history and politics. His work took him to all corners of the country. He also enjoyed traveling for leisure, whether that was spending time with family in North Dakota or enjoying the beauty of the Black Hills of South Dakota and the scenery of Yosemite.
Mike leaves behind his wife of forty-eight and a half years, Dianna Watson; son, Steve Watson; daughter, Sandy Beaugh, husband Jerel; grandson, Camden Beaugh; sisters-in-law, Gloria Benton, husband Gary and Marlene Melom, husband Neil; nieces and nephews, Karen Woiwode, husband Al, Josh Melom, Adam Melom, wife Paige and Emily Melom.
Visitation will be held from 12-2p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland with a Funeral service to begin at 2p.m. On Friday, January 5, 2018.
Dianna I’m so sorry for your loss, I’m praying for God to give you strength to get through this time.
Remembering the family gatherings – Mike was always smiling and laughing.

Dianna, My heart goes out to you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
As I recall my memories, spanning the eighteen years that I have known my father-in-law Mike, several stand out. Memories that show from my perspective, a man of principle and family. A husband and father, who was “quirky”, and whose rough looking exterior hid fatherly gentleness.
The purposeful and exaggerated stares at the ceiling, for those not expecting his ruse (Camden), and the anticipated seasonal mandatory holiday bread toss will be missed.
