Billy Ray Bufkin

Billy Ray Bufkin, 85, of Texas City, TX, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 27, 2017, in Texas City.  Billy was born October 23, 1932, to Bessie Mae and Isaac Hamilton Bufkin in Levi, TX.  He proudly served his country as a Marine. Billy served his community for 25 years as a barber/stylist at his own shop, Bill’s Sebring Barber Shop.  After retirement, he enjoyed more time with family and numerous hobbies.

Billy was preceded in his death by his parents; his sons, Billy Ray Bufkin, Jr., and Paul Hamilton Bufkin; sisters, Thelma Sargent, Mabel Collins, and Ruby Fadel; and brothers, James, Isaac “Buster” Jr., and Edwin Bufkin.

Billy leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 62 years, Jeanette Ozment Bufkin; daughters, Melinda Hickey and husband Marvin, Julie Bufkin, and Malyn Miller and husband Greg; daughter-in-law Terrie Bufkin; raised as a daughter/granddaughter Evette Mejia Razzak and husband Raheel; grandchildren Tammi (Brian) Moran, Dustin Lee Hickey, Gregory Miller, Chelsea (Tyler) Harris, Cailey Miller, and Ricky (Nicole) Crisp; great-grandchildren Ashlynn, Patrick, Daelin, Avery, Aiden, and Bethany Moran; Bailey, Landon and Caleb Hickey; Micah Harris; Ricky Crisp, Jr.; and Zahra Razzak and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, Texas with visitation beginning at 9:00 am. Pastor Johnny Angel presiding. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.

  1. Always enjoyed the discussions I had with Uncle Billy. He will be missed. He was loved by so many. Know that God will send his angels to look over the family and comfort them in this time of their need. Prayers to family.

  6. I have known this man as to be my grandpa. He was very loving. And a good cook when i ate his food. Everyone knows i love food. When i would come over and spend days and weekends with evette i always wanted his biscuits and gravy. Omgsh so good. And when he would make famous things with his pecans !! Loved him to death.
