Joseph Lopes Cortez
Joseph Lopes Cortez, 89, resident of Dickinson, Texas passed from this life, Thursday, June 1, 2017 surrounded by his loving wife and family. Joseph was born January 30, 1928 in Brazil to parents, Francisco and Crecencia.
Joseph was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. As a wood turner, his legacy will remain for generations through his work displayed in businesses and homes throughout Brazil, California, and Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a step-son.
Joseph leaves to cherish his lifetime of memories, his wife, Elva Ramirez Cortez, daughter, Iracema Hartless and husband Alan; step-son, Pedro Guerrero and wife Alicia; step-daughter, Irma Ramirez Mata and husband Jose; two sisters, Paulina Ramos, and Pura Cortez; grandchildren, Lydia Hartless, Matthew Hartless; as well as his step-grandchildren, Patricia Segura, Daniel Guerrero, Rebecca Ramirez, Roxanna Mata, and Miguel Mata.
In his honor, a celebration of life will be held in the Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, in Dickinson, Texas, on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
