Sandra Kay Persky
Sandra Kay Persky, 71, of Texas City, Texas, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2014 at her home.
She was born February 22, 1942 to Charles and Donna Brown in Centralia, Illinois. At a young age, Sandra moved to Texas City where she met and married Billy Ray Persky. They were married for over 55 years and she was very proud of that. She was an amazing cook, and made the World’s Best mashed potatoes! Sandra loved her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids with all of her heart. She loved to spoil her dog Chewy.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband; Billy Ray Persky, her son in-law; Val Angelle, and her sister Betty Morgan.
Mrs. Persky is survived by her daughter Denese Angelle; sons and daughters-in-law; Scott and Shelly Persky, Billy and Cathy Persky and Steven and Melanie Persky, and her beloved sister; Carolyn Ciabattoni and husband Vincent. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; Lindsay Grueneberg, Val Angelle, Lauren Angelle, Tasha Rickaway , Prescott Persky, Tina Persky, Justin Canter, Tyler Kuntzman, Ashley Persky, Jodi Chapman, Tristan Persky and Amanda Persky, nine great-grandchildren; Waylan Grueneberg, Landyn Persky, Brandon “Junior” Ray, Isaac Canter, Justin Canter, Natalie Persky, Ariana Rickaway, Aliyah Rickaway, and Grayson Chapman.
Visitation will be held at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral services for Mrs. Persky will be held Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 10:00am with Dr. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.
